B/W, On the left side of the photo is a photo of a man in uniform mounted to a page which is taped to a separate page which in black ink reads, "INDIAN WARS./ Cert. No. 6330". Left of the photo a name signed in black ink reads, "Ridgley". On the right side of the photo is a document, a widow's pension. Typed or written in ink reads, "INDIAN WARS. Act of July 27, 1892./ and act of June 27 1902/ ORIGINAL./ THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA./ DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR,/ BUREAU OF PENSIONS./ WIDOW'S PENSION./ I Certify That, in conformity with the Law of the United States,/ approved July 27, 1892, Christine M. Monteith widow/ of Thomas Monteith, who was a Private/ of leo F. 1" Regiment Oregon Riflemen/ is entitled to pension at the rate of eight dollars per month, to commence/ on the twenty seventh day of June, one thousand eight nine hundred and/ ninety five, and to continue during her widowhood./ Given at the Department of the Interior, this Fifteenth day of December, one thousand eight nine hundred/ and ninety three/ Ethan A Hitchcock/ Secretary of the Interior./ Examined and countersigned/ E.
