B/W photo of a Timber Carnival parade float for Albany Cub Pack #100. A banner along the side of the float reads: "We'll Run This Show/ in 1960/ You're All Invited". The float simulates the Timber Carnival with at least seven boys sitting on or standing near a log with a saw partly cut through on the back of the float, two holding onto signs that read: "Keep Oregon Green/ We'll Need Timber" and a replica Timber Carnival can in the front of the float with signs above that read "The KLINK" (sitting inside the can is Den Father Felix A. Pelletier). Other boys sit along the length of the float, with one sitting on top of the can. The boys are wearing plaid shirts and hats with buttons and signs on their backs that read "TIMBER CARNIVAL/ 1960", with one boy on top of the can wearing a full cub scout uniform. In the bed of the truck pulling the float are young girls dressed in dresses and hats simulating the Timber Carnival Queen and her court, a banner on the side of the truck bed reads: "Albany Timber Carnival 1960". The float won second place at the parade, a sign hangs off the float near the front: "ORGANIZATIONS/ CLUBS/ 2ND PRIZE". |
